Manager’s Message — April 2020

Libby CalnonDear Members,

The health and safety of our staff and community are our top priorities. We are thankful for the patience and flexibility you’ve shown as we have made some changes to our operations in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Our annual member meeting scheduled for March 12 was postponed. We are developing plans for how we can hold that meeting soon. We will post information on our website and social media pages and send a new meeting notice by mail once those plans are finalized.

On March 16, we closed our lobby to walk-in visitors and temporarily suspended in-home installation of new internet services. These steps are designed to limit contact between our members and our employees to help limit the spread of COVID-19.

We are temporarily waiving late charges. Please keep your account current, but call us if you need more time to pay. If you need to make an in-person cash or credit card payment, you may come to the office and make your payment at the boardroom door without entering our building. There are many other payment options available to you, including mailing a check or leaving a check payment in the drop box near the front door, or setting up online payments. SmartHub is our online payment and account management portal. It’s available as an app you can download to your tablet or smartphone, or as a web page on a desktop or laptop computer.

We have a waiting list for members wishing to have new internet services installed. We will work through the list as quickly as possible once we feel comfortable sending our internet technicians into members’ homes again.

We are taking extra precautions to keep our linemen healthy so they can be ready to respond to any emergencies that arise. If you see them out working, please keep your distance and avoid stopping to visit or shake hands.

We encourage you to follow us on social media for the latest updates about our operations. We’re on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram as @HRECCoop. If you sign up for email billing, we will include you in email announcements about these types of changes in operations.

On behalf of everyone at HREC, thank you for your patience during this challenging time. Stay safe, stay home and wash your hands!

Sincerely,

Libby Calnon
